Martin Rokot graduated from PNG Forestry College, Bululo, with a Diploma in Forestry and has over 26 years’ experience in the area of land acquisition and community affairs, primarily in the oil and gas industry.
Martin has worked on a number of oil and gas developments within PNG where he has assisted in the negotiation of land access agreements for pipeline surveys, seismic activities and drilling sites. He has overseen the implementation of many community development initiatives including in the areas of health and education, women’s affairs, alcohol and substance abuse, and business development.
Martin has held supervisory positions responsible for teams of village liaison officers and land acquisition and community affairs officers. His other skills include landowner negotiation; industrial relations; security and threat management; local, provincial and national level government negotiation; and community assistance program development.
